I’m Kate Saunders, a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Vancouver, BC, Canada - here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. I offer all of my clients experienced counselling and consultation services catered to their needs.
Since 2000, I have provided a number of specialized services to clients overcoming everything from daily stressors to traumatic life experiences. Your emotional health is my number one priority, and my purpose is to help you through life's obstacles by discovering the strengths and resources within and around you. Services are available via phone consultation, Skype sessions, or in-person appointments.

Qualifications & Training
It’s important to know who has the skills and training you need. For almost 25 years, I have provided counselling and parent support services to clients throughout the Lower Mainland with the following areas of specialization.
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Since 2007
RCC is a designation of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. This means that I have passed a thorough registration process including an audit of my educational and clinical training, professional references, criminal record screening, and my agreement to abide by stringent ethical standards.
Certified PCIT Therapist
Since 2008
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an empirically valid counselling program for families that focuses on reducing behavioural issues, improving parenting skills, and enhancing relationships.
Expressive Play therapist
Since 2005
Children often show us what is happening in their lives with their behaviour and communicate easiest through their natural language: play. Just as counselling or "talk therapy" can help adults resolve their challenges, expressive play therapy can benefit children to work through the struggles in their lives.

With over 35 years of experience in counseling and mental health, I specialize in helping individuals and families navigate challenges related to trauma, anxiety, low mood, and complex family dynamics. My goal is to support you in strengthening relationships and enhancing your emotional well-being.

I am particularly passionate about working with parents navigating complexities within their children and the impact on family.
